For public safety reasons they are dropping the support. It seems the team is having significant issues figuring out how Samsung routes emergency 911 calls. ROM is built on the open source code for the Vibrant that was released by Samsung. The Cyanogen team can not figure out the various layers for the radio interface and how it interacts with audio. They have not been able to reverse-engineer a solution and because of that, they are not able to acquire a proper 911 call to go through, only calls without audio.
So unfortunately for Vibrant users, the team is giving up for now. All is not lost though, users can still get custom ROMs, but Abhisek and the Cyanogen team urge users to use an official Samsung ROM because of the safety issues involved with not having access to 911 calls. This is problem does not affect the Samsung Galaxy S variants
