The iPhone Dev Team has released new version of Redsnow that can be used for your iPod Touch Jailbreak in addition to jailbreak other iOS devices like iPhone 4, 3GS and iPad 1.  Redsnow 0.9.8b3 will perform a tethered jailbreak which means the idevice must be connected to a computer running Redsnow when restarting to remain in a jailbroken state.  The new version Redsnow was released in response to Apple release of 4.3.4 firmware.  As usual, unlockers should steer clear of Redsnow in order to preserve your baseband and the ability to unlock with Ultrasnow.  An option for unlockers is to use the Pwnage Tool.

Follow the guide below to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch with Redsnow 0.9.8b3 for iOS 4.3.4.

  • Download the iOS 4.3.4.
  • Update or Restore your iDevice to iOS 4.3.4 by launching  iTunes
  • Download Redsnow 0.9.8b3  for your iDevice from the download links given below
  • Run Redsnow 0.9.8b3 and browse for the previously downloaded iOS 4.3.4 firmware file.
  • Check the install Cydia box and click next.
  • Turn Device off while leaving it plugged in to the computer
  • Enter DFU mode by pressing and holding the “Home” and “Power” button for 10 seconds before releasing the “Power” button, but continuing to hold the “Home” Button for 10 additional seconds.
  • Once your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch is in DFU mode Redsnow 0.9.8 will begin the jailbreak process.
  • All you have to do now is wait, and when your iDevice reboots, you will have a fully jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running iOS 4.3.4.

That’s it! You can now enjoy your jailbroken iDevice
