When performing an iOS jailbreak on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, an occasional problem will occur that prevents the Cydia install from completely.  And considering that Cydia is the gateway to getting the cool jailbreak tweaks that you were after in the first place, this can be a big problem.  This guide presents an alternative to installing Cydia on a jailbroken iDevice.

Step 1.  Perform an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch Jailbreak

Step 2.  Download and Install iPhone Explorer.  This works for both PCs and Macs and will enable you to use drag-and-drop methods to add and remove files from your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.

Step 3.  Download Cydia.deb

Step 4.  Download and install an SSH Terminal from iTunes

Step 5.  Use iPhone Explorer to copy Cydia.deb to your iDevice (place it in the folder /private/var/root)

Step 6.  Start the SSH Terminal program

Step 7.  Re-install Cydia with the following command dpkg –i / cydia.deb

Step 8.  Type killall – HUP  Springboard to respring your device

Enjoy Cydia!  Let us know if this helpful by leaving a comment below.
