According to the EA officials,FIFA 2011 recorded the biggest sales in the opening week for a sports game in history.From the release on September 28th to October 2nd,EA announced that the FIFA 2011 was sold in 2.6 milion copies and made over $150 milion in Europe and North America.The officials also estimated the total sales to be 30% over the FIFA 2010 launch sales.
The EA Sports president Peter Moore also said in a statement:This is a landmark achievement for EA Sports – we’ve shattered sales records at retail, critics are praising FIFA 11 as being one of the most authentic and innovative titles ever, and fans are connecting and competing with other gamers around the world and have logged a record number of online connected game sessions.
