Netflix App Available For Android Users As Well

The official Netflix app was expected to be released alongside the upcoming LG Revolution for Verizon, but it seems that the app was already published in the Android Market. Some may say that this is an awesome piece of news, but consider first that the app can be used only on five different smartphones.

For the owners of the Droid Incredible, the Evo 4G, the T-Mobile G2 and the Nexus S that should not be a problem since they can install the app right now, the others unfortunately will have to wait. We wish to see how the app will manage to utilize the resources of the nVidia Tegra 2 devices, especially since the Motorola Xoom and the Galaxy Tab could actually put it to good use.

The windows Phone 7 and the iPhone users had the app available for a while now, and we are currently hoping that the entire group of Android users will benefit from it. As things go, we understand that the Android operating system is different from a device to another, and the developers of Netflix are supposed to test each and every device to see how well they perform, and hence forth the delay, but seriously, if would be nice if they could speed things up.
