At the Google I/O conference today, Google unveiled the future of the Android Market by showing off few screens of the new Android Market app for phones. The key feature that Google tries to improve with the new interface is the facilitation of browsing  apps, serving up app details and a friendlier app promotion.

On the other hand, Google is introducing new categories in the Android Market, additional top charts, top paid applications and top free applications and the mandatory editor’s choice section.

A trending list will show the hottest apps of the moment, and bear in mind that the list will be dynamic and hopefully will have a massive turnover rate, facilitating the marketing for the smaller developers that so far have to put up a fight to get noticed in the current version of the Android Market.

The user interface will get an air of freshness as well, and will also be more informative than the previous version, and will be pumped up with slick graphics and animations. An app preview page will include screenshots of the most popular apps at the top. In the developer page, the developers will be able to get precious time in the spotlight.

Once you will find an app that catches your eye, you will notice that the related apps section is divided in two smaller lists: the apps that people viewed besides the particular app that you are interested in and the apps that people actually installed besides the app you are viewing.

To spice things up, Google is modifying the file size limit, raising it up to 4GB, allowing for major improvements in both app quality and functionality.
