Sony Xperia Neo Release Delayed Due To Recent Tragic Japan Events

Sony Ericsson has launched the Xperia Neo in February with the occasion of this year’s Mobile World Conference, together with the Xperia Play and Xperia Arc. Initial release date was set for April 19 but this unfortunately just got delayed up to Q3.

Our information sources tell us that the Xperia Neo will be delayed to July in the UK – and maybe other regions too – and it is easy to see why considering the recent tragic events in Japan. The official reason of the delay is clearly stated as “disruption to the supply chain as a result of the disaster in Japan”. While nothing’s for sure, one thing is, unfortunately: there will be no Xperia Neo in the near future.

On a side note, the Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc are also affected from the same reasons but we know for certain that Sony Ericsson is doing its best to at least minimize the impact. We’ll look into the matter and give you the news as soon as we hear new info! In the meanwhile please take a few seconds to realize the magnitude of the disaster there, and send a good thought at least.
