Samsung’s Galaxy S 2 1.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor Confirmed From Multiple Sources

Ever since the Samsung Galaxy S II has been announced, one of the most elusive features in its specs was the processor that was highly disputed, especially considering that there will be two processor architectures, the Samsung’s Exynos 4210 and NVidia Tegra 2 version. The most piece of info was that it was going to be a 1 GHz dual-core. Apparently that was changed considering that Samsung Estonia posted that the phone will have indeed a dual-core processor but, running at 1.2GHz.

The company confirmed that the chip will have Cortex A9 cores, which fits with both Exynos and Tegra chips. The Exynos 4210 is only supposed to reach 1GHz, though, so maybe Samsung is looking at a slightly different chip, or the 4210 is more scalable than we thought.

More than this, the Estonian revelation was confirmed as well by GSM Arena that confirmed the processing power boost thanks to one of its sources. Unfortunately on the official product page the only thing stated is that the device will have Dual Core Application Processor, without going into more details, but all of that will hopefully be cleared when the device will hit the European market apparently just slightly behind schedule in May.
