TheWeek.com, that recently managed to achieve over 1.7 million unique visitors, just got its mobile apps for iOS and Android devices. The apps were developed with Zumobi, and are available for free download both in Apple’s App Store and Android’s Market.

Zumobi ensured that The Week’s app look and feel great, and that users can easily go through articles from different categories, including latest news, editor’s choice, news, business and the arts. The popular political cartoons are available as well, besides the social-networking features that allow users to save articles and share them with tools like Facebook, Twitter and email.

About the mobile app launch, The Week’s General Manager of Digital, Deidre Depke, said that it is good that their readers will be able to get access to content while on the go since the mobile devices are quickly becoming a powerful tool in our age.

We are glad to see as well that more and more publications are  opting for this manner of news propagation considering that time is of the essence and there is no better news than fresh news.
