Along with Redsnow 0.9.6rc9 Dev Team also released PwnageTool 4.3, which is also an untethered jailbreak for 4.3.1, the only difference being that it will preserve your baseband for unlocking. In this tutorial I’m going to teach you how to jailbreak 4.3.1 untethered with PwnageTool 4.3 and preserve your baseband for unlocking. However, Ultrasnow 1.2 doesn’t support 4.3.1 at this time, and you’ll have to wait until Dev Team updates it, so you can’t unlock 4.3.1 at this time at all. Follow 2-soft and you’ll be informed as soon as this happens.

PwnageTool 4.3 untethered jailbreak for 4.3.1 supports the following iDevices:

• iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS
• iPad
• iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G

Follow the tutorial below to learn how to jailbreak 4.3.1 untethered with PwnageTool 4.3 on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

1. Download PwnageTool and iOS 4.3.1 from the download links given below.
2. Run PwnageTool for 4.3.1 and select “Expert Mode”
3. Select the device that you want to jailbreak 4.3.1 on
4. Browse for the previously downloaded 4.3.1 IPSW file
5. Check “Build” and let PwnageTool for 4.3.1 work its magic.
6. Once PwnageTool 4.3 finishes creating the custom firmware, connect your iPhone, iPad or IPod Touch and follow the instructions to enter DFU mode.
7. After PwnageTool 4.3 prompts you with a message that you have successfully entered DFU mode, close it and start iTunes.
8. In iTunes, select your device from the left sidebar and the press on restore while holding the left “Alt” button.
9. Browse for the already jailbroken 4.3.1 IPSW previously created with PwnageTool 4.3 and click on “Open”
10. Let iTunes restore your device to the custom 4.3.1 firmware and that’s it.
