Though it is still lacking some basic features, Windows Phone 7 is planning on approaching the high ranking mobile platforms and Microsoft is apparently aiming high and to please. Obviously, Microsoft does not wish to miss the train on NFC payment, and we were not surprised at all to learn that they are currently working on this integration.

Bloomberg has two anonymous sources that state that Microsoft will include the NFC capabilities as early as this year on Windows Phone 7 devices.

The news are not confirmed but it makes perfect sense considering that all major platforms are announcing future integration of the NFC, including iOS, Android and BlackBerry, and more than that carriers all around the world are testing the technology.

There is little doubt that 2011 will remain to be known as the year when the NFC system finally started out, or how we like to put it, the year when credit cards started to become obsolete.
