iPhone developer and hacker iH8Snow has just released PwnageTool bundles to add support for iOS 4.3 GM running on iPhone 3GS, 4, iPad and iPod Touch 4G, 3G. By adding this bundles to the existing version of PwnageTool, you will be able to create iOS 4.3 GM custom firmwares, already jailbroken and with baseband preservation.

The jailbreak for iOS 4.3 GM is currently tethered, which means that you’ll have to boot into jailbroken state every time you power off your iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad or iPod Touch 4G, 3G.

Follow the tutorial to jailbreak iPhone 3GS, 4, iPad or iPod Touch 3G, 4G running iOS 4.3 GM using PwnageTool 4.2 and the appropriate bundles.

Step 1: Download PwnageTool bundles for your device

Step 2: Download PwnageTool 4.2 and move it to the Applications directory

Step 3: Right click on PwnageTool and then “Show Package Contents”

Step 4: Go to “Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles/” and paste the appropriate PwnageTool bundle for your iDevice ( iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G)

Step 5: Download iOS 4.3 GM for your iDevice and place it on your desktop

Step 6: Run PwnageTool and select “Expert Mode”. Then select your device.

Step 7: Search for your iOS 4.3 GM firmware previously downloaded and placed on your desktop.

Step 8: Click on build and let PwnageTool work its magic.

Step 9: Enter your iDevice in DFU mode using PwnageTool

Step 10: Start iTunes, click on your device in the left sidebar and then press “Restore” while holding ALT (Mac) or SHIFT(Windows).

Step 11: Select your previously created custom iOS 4.3 GM firmware and click OK.

Step 12: Sit back and wait for iTunes to restore your iPhone 3GS, 4, iPad or iPod Touch 4G, 3G to your jailbroken iOS 4.3 GM firmware.

That’s it! You have successfully managed to jailbreak iOS 4.3 GM on your device. Now, if you decide to reboot your device, you need to boot it in jailbroken state every time, using theteredboot.

Hi, I did all the steps from above as well and when I restore it with the custom firmware an error message shows up saying that an "unknown error ocurred (1)", I've also tried doing it without an internet connection and shows up another error message displaying that it can not connect to Apple's server for verification

add " 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com " in your hosts file. This should help

I really have no idea where that is... I'm restoring it with itunes now. How long do you think an untethered version will be out in?
