It seems like many iDevice users are upset that deleting their Safari history sometimes won’t work. Maybe because their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch is jailbroken and has some issues or dozens of other reasons but I don’t think you are interested about why this is happening, and you only want a fix for this.

Well, you can follow the tutorial below to learn how to Delete / Clear Safari search history on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Safari
  2. Switch your search engine [ if you currently use Google tap on Yahoo and viceversa]
  3. Press the Home button
  4. Tap on Safari and then on Settings > Safari
  5. Now, tap on the following buttons in this order: Clear History | Clear Cookies | Clear Cache
  6. Go back and switch your search engine as it was before
  7. Open Safari again
  8. Navigate to Google dot com
  9. Enter a letter into the search bar, but do not tap on search
  10. When the dropdown menu with all the previous searches is shown, tap on the “ Clear History ” button, located in the bottom left corner

If you want to delete / clear bookmarks too, just navigate to Safari > Bookmarks > History > Clear

Done! You have successfully managed to delete your iPhone’s [ iPad or iPod Touch ] Safari Search History and Bookmarks
